It’s a playful, fun array of artists, from nostalgic throwbacks, international pop stars, DJing drag queens and techno rave caves. . . Bringing together everyone to dance, with no focus on age, gender, or star sign.
Previously announced for the event is UK disco queen Jessie Ware and drag superstar Trixie Mattel, for an all-inclusive event from day to night. Joining the line-up are underground American rapper and songwriter Brooke Candy, producer and DJ Kito, viral pop sensation Rebecca Black, Berlin club DJ Meg10, Afrofuturistic NYC DJ duo The Illustrious Blacks, British singer-songwriter Tom Aspaul, the iconic Belinda Carlisle (SYD only), ‘90s dance diva Ultra Nate (MEL only) and 100 more local performers.
The Summer Camp Sports Arena will host international pop stars and party tunes, for the true sport uniting us all. . . Dance! The BEAT Stage will bring together acts from the realms of house, disco, techno, and anthems for eight hours of power. Sydney’s Club Love is a cheesy singalong and party inside an inflatable pink camouflage church. In Melbourne, you can get down and dirty inside an electronic Rave Cave.
The Melbourne event will take over St Kilda Marina, making it Summer Camp ‘by the sea’. . . As it inhabits indoor, outdoor, waterside spaces, plus the car park and rave cave.
Meanwhile, in Sydney, Summer Camp takes over Wentworth Park Sports Centre in Ultimo, after the loss of Centennial Park due to flooding last year. It’s got a sports field, car park and clubhouse. . . Soon to be inhabited by an array of queens and colour.
