Space Girls Festival is dedicated to fostering a space where female empowerment and LGBTQIA+ visibility are at the forefront. This being said, Outer Space aims to celebrate the rich diversity in the community and provide a platform for voices which often go unheard.
It’s a vibrant day of music, celebration and empowerment – all in honour of Pride Month, highlighting the importance of inclusion and the strength in our differences.
Outer Space features a dynamic live music programme, headlined by Ixaras. Following her 2023 hit song ‘Sprouts’, Ixaras will tour her current single ‘Fresh Figure’, released via her newly-launched, youth-oriented label, Anti Dismal. The 16-year-old performer has become known for her melodic ear-worms.
Ella Fence, an artist not afraid to challenge the status quo and push boundaries, will hit the stage with her band. She’s recognised for her talents globally, with more than four million streams on her Spotify from listeners all over the world. In 2019, she earned a nomination for Best Development Artist at the Australian Women In Music Awards.
A line-up of talented performers will kick off early to warm up the stage and the audience. They will each bring their unique sound and style to the stage – including Savannah Jones and indie pop rock band Hugo and the Hive.
Headspace Gympie will be transformed into a hub of activity for the day. There will not only be live music, but also various stalls, interactive activities, and workshops.
“We are incredibly excited for Outer Space in partnership with Headspace Gympie," Space Girls Founder And Co-Director Cindy Vogels says.
"This festival is more than just a music event; it's a celebration of who we are as a community. By spotlighting female and LGBTIQ+ artists, we hope to inspire and empower everyone who attends, reminding them of the beauty and strength in diversity."
Space Girls Festival’s Outer Space takes place at Headspace Gympie (Queensland) 27 June.
