'Rodney' is not only the title of the EP and it's title track, but also the name of Baby's car.
"Rodney is my car, and he is a god damn hero," she says. "In all seriousness though, this car was the saving grace in maybe one of the worst moments of my life."
Baby Bulldog's PT Cruiser is a symbol of the end of an era, an era revisited in the six-track sophomore EP. The tracks are queer love stories told with the everyday lyricism of Courtney Barnett and the hooks of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Baby was left stranded in LA after the collapse of a relationship, without a car and paying two times the rent. Eventually, seven weeks into a nine-week tour drumming for Coast Modern, Baby's friend called to let her know an old professor was letting go of a PT Cruiser for $250.
Rodney is immortalised on the EP's opening track, which leads into 'Lonely', 'Everyone But Me', 'I Rly Rly Like U', 'Work On Things', and 'In The Morning'.
