The Sydney Mardi Gras Sissy Ball At Carriageworks

For one night only as part of Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, clubbers will be transported to a Vogue dancefloor born from New York's underground Ballroom scene.

Curated by Sydney-based interdisciplinary artist Bhenji Ra and presented by Red Bull Music, Sissy Ball is Sydney's biggest vogue ball, hosting the ultimate throwdown of style and precision.

Asia-Pacific houses Slé, Fafswag, Coven and House Of Envy will compete in a vogue competition set to transfix at Redfern's Carriageworks.

Clubbers can expect a genre-defying dance floor, live music, light installations and an exhilarating vogue battle!

This will be the city's biggest vogue ball to date.

“For the first time in history, vogue houses from all across the Asia Pacific will gather to compete at the Sissy Ball, marking a historical moment for our small, but resilient community.

"Within our ballroom scene, we have adopted names from our local community groups and art collectives such ‘Fafswag’ and ‘Slé’. There’s been so much momentum and talent gathering throughout these communities, so I know when they take to the stage it will be a moment not to be missed.”
- Bhenji Ra, House Mother, Slé.

Sissy Ball takes place at Carriageworks on 24 February.
