Oz Comic-Con Melbourne To Feature The CommUnity Space – For Members And Allies Of The LGBTQIA+ Community

Oz Comic-Con’s Xmas Edition in Melbourne is sure to be a real Christmas cracker with film, television and voice actors confirmed to be in attendance.

There’ll be community Christmas cheer events, like Christmas-themed cosplay meet-ups and competitions, the ugly Christmas sweater competition, and a massive pop culture marketplace: a great place to grab those last-minute Christmas gifts.

Also part of the Xmas Edition is The CommUnity Space.

This space will provide a safe, inclusive haven for members and allies of the queer community at the event. It’s designed to be a place where all in attendance can feel comfortable, and celebrate their love for all things queer pop culture. . . As well as engage in activities, discussions, and meet-ups centring around queer representation and diversity in pop culture.

Meet-ups including Speed Friending, Shantay You Sleigh, The 12 Gays Of Christmas, Anime-rry Christmas, Gays Of Streaming and more.

One of the major themes set to be celebrated is ‘Our Flag Means Death’, a series which wove themes of found family and queer community into the fabric of the storyline. Joining the event is ‘Our Flag Means Death’’s Con O’Neill, who played Izzy Hands in the show.

Oz Comic-Con Xmas Edition is on at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 9-10 December.
