Sophie Ellis-Bextor Australia 2026 Tour

It'll be murder on the dance floor when British chart-topper Sophie Ellis-Bextor returns to Australia early 2026.

After supporting Take That late 2024, the disco-pop queen will headline concerts in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth next February.

The tour news arrives in the wake of Ellis-Bextor's just released new studio album 'Perimenopop' that features the singles 'Freedom Of The Night' and 'Relentless Love'.

"I've been bringing my new album 'Perimenopop' around with me on my travels these past couple of weeks and I must say, she is great company."

"Thank you so much to everyone who has got their copy since Friday – it's been glorious hearing what songs you're enjoying the most."

The last couple of years has seen Sophie reestablish herself as pop star after her ubiquitous noughties hit 'Murder On The Dancefloor' featured in Golden Globes-nominated film 'Saltburn' (will we ever forget that final scene!?).

That resulted in the song becoming the most streamed song on Spotify globally, and led to Sophie's most successful year for live performances in 2024, with 110 shows performed. Royel Otis even covered 'Murder' for Like A Version.

"Sometimes there's a sprinkle of serendipity that really ties a creative project together. Releasing 'Perimenopop' as [the northern hemisphere] autumn arrives and the leaves change colour is absolutely perfect and it feels so right," Sophie recently posted.

"This eighth album was born out of many things. . . looking back to when 'Murder' and its friends were first released with 'Read My Lips' in 2001, the relationships I started around that time which have given me so much support and fun, thinking over the chapters of your life which you pass through consciously and unconsciously, and what gifts come with getting older.

"Knowing yourself, feeling a little more fearless, and understanding what magic lies in everyday joy. . . these are the senses I have poured into song.

"I was also inspired by many people around me. Incredible women I've spoken to for the Spinning Plates podcast, brilliant bold artists both older and younger who blaze a trail, creatives who I love, and the wonderful friends and family I have in my life.

"Pop – I've always loved you, but as the seasons change you've really allowed me to celebrate the things that matter to me. Here's to my Perimenopop autumn. Oh, I found my first conkers today, too."

Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 18 September.
