With ‘Joker’ sequel ‘Folie A Deux’, starring Gaga, set for a cinematic release in Australia just next Thursday (3 October), and Gaga herself confirming the lead single for her seventh album is set to drop in October. . . Monsters all over the world have been pretty well-fed.
But if that wasn’t enough, this Friday (27 September) Lady Gaga will drop a companion album for ‘Joker: Folie A Deux’, titled ‘Harlequin’, featuring songs from the official soundtrack and, what appears to be, some originals.
Fans have realised that Gaga has been teasing something alongside her next studio album for a while now – hinting in interviews that she’s got plenty of music up her sleeve, and that she’s enjoyed combining the world of acting with the world of music. Well, now we know what it all meant!
Plus, paparazzi shots of Gaga filming something with red hair at Paris museum The Louvre surfaced online a few weeks ago, and the aesthetic of this companion album seems to match – so it’s safe to say some more visuals (perhaps in the form of a music video) are coming as well.
The pop icon has dropped a selection of vinyl variants of the album online – plenty of opportunity to snag the project and own it in physical form!
As for what to expect on the tracklist, Gaga has covered classics like ‘The Joker’, ‘Get Happy’, ‘That’s Entertainment’ and ‘That’s Life’. . . But fans have noticed tracks ‘Folie A Deux’ and ‘Happy Mistake’, both of which appear to be original songs.
Lady Gaga’s album ‘Harlequin’ is released 27 September. ‘Joker: Folie A Deux’ is in cinemas 3 October.
