Global pop icon and our very own Kylie Minogue has dropped the second taste of her upcoming album ‘Tension’ – and what better way to tease us further than with its title track?
The album’s first single, ‘Padam Padam’, has had a meteoric rise around the world since release, quickly finding its way into slang globally as a greeting, an exclamation, a verb, a noun, and an adjective! There have even been calls to get ‘Padam’ into the dictionary, which is pretty Padam.
Enter a new dance floor smash in second single ‘Tension’. It’s written by Kylie alongside long-term collaborators Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell, as well as KAMILLE, Anya Jones and Jon Green. The song’s gradual, euphoric build-up slams into a heavy, sexy drop and the tension is broken to make way for total, reckless abandon.
Meanwhile, the song’s video is set to drop at 9pm AEST tonight (1 September), and has been directed by long-time collaborator Sophie Muller. It sees Kylie take several different guises in a ‘retro-future’ alternate reality.
The album is a project filled with unabashed pleasure seeking, seize-the-moment, joyful pop tunes.
‘Tension’ the single is out now. ‘Tension’ the album drops on 22 September.
