Every year, the inner-city street outside Brisbane’s Wickham Hotel is closed for an epic stage, constructed to showcase a sparkling line up pop stars, drag queens, musicians and DJs. In 2025, Big Gay Day’s theme is a Y2K celebration.
The event has previously hosted names like Melanie C, Boy George, and The Veronicas.
The fabulous Paul Wheeler will return to the stage as MC once again, and filling up the stage in 2025 are the likes of pop princess Peach PRC, The Presets (DJ set), Jimi The Kween, Lazy Susan, Freya Armani, Harry K and more.
Each year, Big Gay Day does its bit to raise money for LGBTQIA+ charities. For this year’s event, proceeds will go to Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS), which is also celebrating its 25th year.
“Big Gay Day is such an iconic day for our community, and we are so excited to be celebrating 25 years in 2025,” The Wickham Venue Manager Mark Baker says. “It’s all about being loud, proud, and having a lot of fun with our amazing entertainment to raise money for ODYS, which is an important LGBTQIA charity, also turning 25 this year.”
Tickets are on sale 6 March at 10am.
Big Gay Day Brisbane 2025 is on at The Wickham Hotel 4 May.
