Brisbane's largest LGBTQIA+ street festival, Big Gay Day, will return for 2021.

The event was established in 2000, and each year raises money for charity partners supporting the queer community. Local charities in 2021 are Queensland AIDS Council, Australian Transgender Support Association Queensland, Brisbane Pride, Open Doors Youth Service, LGBTI Legal Service and QLife.

Big Gay Day will be moved to May this year.

"We are thrilled to be bringing back Big Gay Day for its 21st year,” The Wickham Hotel Venue Manager Stuart Black says.

"The event is such a fabulous celebration with our patrons and raises so much money for charities that are very close to our heart. We are excited to announce the new date for 2021 and l hope this year we will raise more money than ever before."

Big Gay Day 2021 takes place at The Wickham (Brisbane) 2 May.
