Of course, you can kick things off thanks to the award-winning Fair Day at Victoria Park, as you explore queer vendors, live music, and more. . . All with Pinot grigio in hand.

Plus, who doesn't love a pool party? You've got a few to choose from – Kaftana or Paradiso, both held at the renowned ivy Pool Bar. You also don't have to choose. . . They're on different days, so why not experience both?!

Keep your swimmers on – the newly iconic Bondi Beach Party is back, and this year it's headlined by Slayyyter in an exclusive performance, and she'll be joined by the likes of Lagoon Femshayma, Jay Jay Revlon, Corey Craig, Josh Harrison, Beth Yen, Tyoow, Mama de Leche and more.

You've got to experience the iconic Mardi Gras Parade at one of the many Official Viewing Areas – it's the perfect pre-drinks before heading to Mardi Gras Party.

Those up for some weekend fun have three weekends of Mardi Gras shenanigans to look forward to. Weekend one sees a Friday night celebration in Ultra Violet at the National Art School. Then is the vibrant Fair Day, where you'll see why it took out the award for Best Live Event in NSW, 2023.

Pride March

For weekend two, you can kick things off with queer comedy's night of nights at 'Laugh Out Proud'. . . Then comes the touch decision: Bondi Beach Party or Sissy Ball? It's a tough call, but either way, it's bound to be a weekend of pure pride.

The annual Parade is not to be missed in weekend three. Experience a sea of bio-glitter, feathers and pride, and then head to the Party at Moore Park. As the festival comes to an end there's no need to fret – join your friends for a final hurrah at Laneway at The Beresford.

Of course, Mardi Gras can be enjoyed by all ages with its line-up of family-friendly activities. You can immerse your family in Indigenous culture by beginning the 2024 season with Festival First Light, held across various locations.

Plus, Queer Formal (a partnership with Minus18) can be attended by anyone ages 12-19. Fair Day, the Living History Walk and the Zoo Walk, as well as the iconic Parade (Ruby Road Viewing Area) can be enjoyed by all.

Queer Art After Hours will turn the Art Gallery Of New South Wales into the epicentre of queer artistry, as fellow community members bring a kaleidoscope of expression. Queer Futures, held at the National Art School, will be a two-day long collection of panel discussions and talks.

The Mardi Gras+ programme offers a range of free events from Parade screening parties to art classes.

For those looking for a pride-filled celebration without the hustle and bustle of a major party, Diamond Dance might be for you. Join Polly's Club and Dykes On Bikes, to celebrate pride by dancing to classic bangers from the '80s, '90s and early '00s. There'll also be a raffle, a best-dressed competition, and a lucky door prize.

Hot Trans Summer makes its Mardi Gras debut, and promises to be the most sickening boat party that ever existed. Experience a trans and gender-fluid wonderland as you cruise around Sydney Harbour.

Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras is on from 16 February-3 March.
