PIGROOT – Presenting A Queer, Midsummer Party In Perth

Ash Baroque and Riot Poof present PIGROOT in Perth – a new, filthy dive bar hosting a midsummer art party for queers, and enthusiasts of pearls, swine, and song.

PIGROOT

PIGROOT is curated and produced by nocturnal nancy and nightlife stalwart Ash Baroque, and his new production house Riot Poof. Ash may be familiar thanks to some legendary Perth happenings like ‘Richard’, ‘Fandango’, ‘Bar Bitch Chew Art’, ‘Brief Encounters’, ‘Bonfire Of The Vanities’ or ‘Mother’s Milk’.

Ash has also produced conceptual parties for the likes of Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras, Perth Festival, and more.

So what can one expect at PIGROOT?

Well, it’s as filthy as it sounds. Folks will gather together for summer solstice to honour the sun, love magick, sensual pleasure, and the abundance of nature. It’s encouraged to indulge your desire to dress for decadence and debauchery – one lucky winner will be chosen as best-dressed. . . Receiving a prize on the night.

There’ll be filthy DJs, performance piggies and delicious foods.

Featured DJs and performers include. . . Megana, channelling her creative spirit into a genre-defying cacophony of music, dance, performance, photography and film; Lucky Pete bringing his best workout mix tapes in a sweaty set; Ash Baroque delivering alt-drag, body weather, mime, ritual and theatre art; and Salut Barbu, the butch queen opening PIGROOT with a squeal or two.

Tickets on sale now.

PIGROOT is on at Old Habits (Perth) 21 December.
