Their show will now visit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
After two decades of starring as one of the most talked-about characters in Joel Creasey’s stand-up, the woman who made him – his mum, Jenny – joins him in a brand-new live show. The tour sees a prince of Australian comedy joined by the matriarch herself, for an evening of razzle dazzle, saucy scandal, and over-sharing.
“Well, it was inevitable wasn’t it?! After 20 years of being a staple of my act, Jenny Creasey (or mum to me) is departing the oasis of her compound and taking to the stage alongside me,” Joel says.
“As I always say to mum, ‘I’ve no idea what the devil pays you but boy do you advocate for him hard’. This could be a huge mistake so come witness this potentially epic blunder in person. . . As I share the spotlight with my maker.”
Jenny is a former West End actress, movie star, model, and, in Joel’s words, “the original mole”. Now’s her time to step out, from behind the punchlines and into the spotlight. Together, they’ll trade showbiz bon mots, tales of travel, regalings of romance, and thinly-veiled insults. . . Delivered with family flair.
Judy and Liza, Kris and Kim, Velma and Roxy. . . Jenny and Joel: louder, looser, and more likely to overshare.
The pair are set to deliver something which is equal parts comedy show, family therapy and high-risk decision making. It’s an intimate, outrageous and possibly catastrophic glimpse into a 36-year relationship which has survived fame, opinions and group chats.
Tickets on sale 7 August.
