Broken Heel Festival first popped its cork in 2015, on the 21st birthday of the film, in the outback mining city of Broken Hill. Now, the Silver City is getting ready to kick up its heels once again to celebrate ‘Priscilla’’s dirty 30th birthday – right where the film took place.
Previous artists who have graced Broken Heel stages include Kita Mean, Joel Creasey, Art Simone, Hans, and Rhonda Burchmore.
Broken Heel Festival runs over a five-day programme, including all-ages, free shows. This year’s line-up includes Marcia Hines, Greg Andrew Elton John Experience, Kita Mean, Anita Wigl’it, Rita Menu BeBe Gunn, Tanzer, The Huxley’s, Vonni, Dame Liz Taylor, Gayleen Tuckwood, Woody, DJ Jack Shit, St Just Sisters, Christina Knees-up and more.
Audiences can expect the Main Street parade, where up to 6,000 people line the Main Street in fabulous ‘Priscilla’-inspired outfits for that famous lap up the main drag; an interactive screening of ‘Priscilla’ with a special Q&A from someone from the cast and crew; and a dance flash mob in the dusty streets of Silverton.
Tickets are on sale now.
Broken Heel Festival is on from 5-9 September in Broken Hill (New South Wales).
