Adelaide's Feast Festival Brings In A New Leadership Team Ahead Of 30th Anniversary

Adelaide’s LGBTQIA+ Feast Festival will bring in a new Executive Director and a new (first) Creative Director for the 2026 festival and beyond.

Skye Bee and Katherine Sortini

The 2026 festival theme is ‘Joy’.

Skye Bee (they/them) is Feast’s new Executive Director, and Katherine Sortini is the new Creative Director.

This will be the first time that Feast has appointed both an Executive Director and Creative Director in tandem. It’s a leadership structure mirroring the festival’s values: community-led, artist-driven, and unapologetically queer.

Together, Skye and Katherine (both queer artists) bring a powerful combination of operational expertise, creative vision, and deep community connection. Their joint appointment signals a renewed commitment to authenticity, artistic integrity, and care at every level of the organisation.

Skye Bee (they/them) is Feast’s new Executive Director. They’re a multidisciplinary artist, producer, and performer, with a career spanning large-scale event delivery, inclusive arts practice, and organisational leadership.

“Feast has always been more than a festival," Skye Bee says. "It is a living, breathing expression of queer culture, connection, and joy. This next chapter is about deepening that impact, creating space for bold artistic voices, and ensuring that access, inclusion, and care are embedded in everything we do.”

Then there’s the newly created role of Creative Director, filled by Katherine Sortini. Katherine has already proven her value to Feast Festival as Creative Producer and Artist/Venue Liaison. She brings a practice grounded in emotional honesty, storytelling, and artistic integrity. . . Known for creating deeply affecting, human-centred work resonating with audiences.

“Feast has always held an incredible amount of creative energy and this festival belongs to the community. For me, this next chapter is about harnessing that energy and giving it form – shaping a programme that is bold, inclusive, and deeply reflective of the people it exists for,” Katherine says. “I’m excited to build something that feels both locally grounded and unapologetically expansive.”

Feast approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027. This edition marks a moment of significant momentum, laying the foundations for a landmark celebration of three decades of queer arts, culture and community in South Australia.

Feast Festival 2026 is on from 1-22 November.
