Virgin Australia’s Pride Flight Ready For Takeoff In 2024

Virgin Australia’s Pride Flight is back for a fourth consecutive year, with seats on sale for three key services departing from Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide and set for Sydney in March.

Virgin Australia’s Pride Flight

Pride Flight will once again be hosted by ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under’ stars and accomplished drag performers, and the flights will come alive with parties on the ground and in the air, complete with beverages, special entertainment by local LGBTQIA+ venues Fluffy (Brisbane) and Circuit (Melbourne), celebrity appearances, DJ tunes, and merch giveaways.

All Pride Flight services will be operated by LGBTQIA+ people and allies, and will have special flight numbers adorning each flight:

VA1975 Adelaide > Sydney: 1975 was the year South Australia became the first Australian state to decriminalise male homosexuality.
VA1978 Melbourne > Sydney: In 1978 Sydney hosted its first Mardi Gras Parade.
VA2017 Brisbane > Sydney: 2017 marked the year same-sex marriage was legalised in Australia.

“We are really proud to have created a legacy event in Pride Flight that not only our team look forward to each year, but one that is now celebrated widely across the country,” Virgin Australia CEO Jayne Hrdlicka says.

“It really is one of the highlights on our annual events calendar and next year Pride Flight will be just as full of life, love and colour.”
