Taking place in June, the not-for-profit Pink Flamingo’s Queerswich will support the LGBTQIA+ community of south east Queensland. All the glitz and glamour will come to Ipswich and local businesses have a unique opportunity to support the community and its allies.
The inaugural event will feature live entertainment from drag performers, plus comedians, musicians and DJs. There’ll be a queer art challenge, Paws For Pride Puptacular Puppy Pageant, a PrideCon Queer Cosplay competition, a kids’ area including drag queen story time. Artisan and craft markets. . . And food trucks!
The event is expected to attract approximately 10,00 attendees, from across Ipswich and south east Queensland. It will display Ipswich’s rich and diverse city, which itself has a growing LGBTQIA+ community. The event is set to celebrate side and raise queer visibility in the region.
Members of the queer community, their families and their friends are all invited to a family-friendly day out in the city to celebrate and include all people regardless of sexual identity, gender, or lived experience.
Queerswich is the brain child of Ipswich locals Rachel Vickary and Jules Herbert (Pink Flamingo Productions).
Queerswich will take place at Tulmur Place (Ipswich, Queensland) on 4 June, 2023.
