Just 70 minutes north of Sydney and south of Newcastle, Coastal Twist blends pristine beaches, dazzling performances, vibrant dance floors, thought-provoking art, and family-friendly fun – across six days of culture and connection.
It’s a ‘gaycation’ with a purpose.
Multiple Central Coast hubs will host an extraordinary mix of events. . . Glittering stage spectaculars, heart-pumping live music, jaw-dropping circus, electrifying dance, boundary-pushing drag, evocative film, eye-opening exhibitions, and activities for all ages.
The peak of Coastal Twist is the Coastie Carnie Fair Day – a free, all-ages celebration featuring headline acts, the Puparazzi Pooch Parade, food, market stalls, and local business showcases.
“It’s been a challenging year for our regional LGBTQIA+ communities — from spikes in hate crimes and public hostility to council pushback on community events,” Festival Director Glitta Supernova says. “But the unity, resilience, and support we’ve seen locally and nationally have been extraordinary. In these divisive times, our survival depends on standing together for human rights, equality, and inclusion. Division and infighting will only slow progress — together, we can create a future where freedom belongs to everyone.”

The 2025 theme is ‘Strength In Unity’.
“Coastal Twist isn’t just a festival — it’s a full sensory getaway. Where else can you swim at pristine beaches in the morning, see cutting-edge performance at night, and dance under the mirrorball with people from all walks of life? It’s the ultimate ‘gaycation’ with a purpose.”
From grassroots beginnings in 2019, Coastal Twist has worked alongside local businesses, community groups, and national partners. . . Creating a socially meaningful, joy-filled event. Whether you’re a local, a day-tripper, or a traveller seeking a great coastal escape, Coastal Twist has something for everyone.
